Create a text effect like an etched glass surface for website banner or logo works.

[1] Take a new file choose a proper size and pick 72 dpi resolution.

[2] Take the Rectangular Marquee Tool.

[3] Now create a new shape with the help of Rectangular Marquee Tool.

[4] Then take the Gradient Tool use the following settings.

[5] Fill the selection with the help of Gradient Tool.

[6] Now press Cntl+U, to Hue/Saturation apply the following settings.

[8] Now go to Blending Option apply the following settings.

[10] Now create a new layer.

[11] Take the Rectangular Marquee Tool create a new shape as shown image below.

[12] Now go to Edit>Stroke apply the following settings.

[16] Then go to Blending Option apply the following settings.

[18] Now take the Shape Tool and select this one.

[19] Make the new layer fill the new shape with grey color.

[20] Press Cnlt+T, to Free Transform, then minimized your shape see in the next image.

[21] Go to Blending Option apply the following settings.

[22] Your image should be look like this.

[23] Make the copy of shape layer then go to Edit>Transform>Flip Horizontal, the shape layer see in the next image.

[24] Now here is a final step select the background layer fill with black color.

[25] Your final image should be look like this.
