Gadgets to get a New Lease of Life with Shock Absorbing Carbon Springs

The Tigers down at Clemson University are working on a spring which will absorb the shock after falling to the ground. This spring is most likely to provide a new lease of life to gadgets such as pmp and cellphones. In working with researchers at UC San Diego, the crew has determined that layers of tiny coiled carbon nanotubes can act as “extremely resilient shock absorbers.” They even plan to install these springs in cars, armors and shoes.
